Frozen.

I was going to update on Monday, whining how I'm dying here with -18C. I was too busy with Japanese homework then to do that. Well, today I'm going to whine that I'm freezing to death as well -but today it's -24C (converter says -11F)!! This is ridiculous! And the forecast lady said this ain't getting any better anytime soon. Sure, there's been a ( Read more... )

I'd be voting on the same guy if I'd be in Helsinki. -A- Now I have to settle for the politicians in Turku and I'm not happy at all. Hnngh, I'm so CONFUSED I'm ready to vote for Batman at this point.

He's somehow so charismatic, yet cool at the same time ^^b Hopefully there's some decent candidates in Turku too :( Höhöö, kun asuin Turussa, yksi ehdokas kaupunginvaltuustoon asu mun naapurissa -jaettiin kahden muun miehen kanssa yks omakotitalo. Se aika äkkiä muutti pois kun meno kävi absurdiks, ei vissiin halunnu et sen ehdokasimagoon yhdistettäis kaikkia häiritseviä juttuja 8D)

And this comment clearly asks for dis icon rite here\,,/

When it comes to politics as theme of discussion, I also have found myself caught in head-desking moments a lot around people whom I usually have little differing opinions with. (I generally avoid parties that boast about one central theme -race, religion, ethnicity, etc- as its binding power. It has potential to turn into gigantic dominant majority power or create huge friction, and in my country with its diverse religions and ethnicities that would mean trouble in the long run.) Your candidate sounds like someone I'd give my vote to if I was in your place. :)

I am officially so jealous right now. I've never ever won any lottery or get my posters signed by the actual artists. Clearly that means you'll have to upload the goodies' pics so it'll complete my 'why, oh, why' moment. /dramabutton :D

It's pretty rare in Finland to have a such a popular party that's driven by one force and force only -in this case, patriotism. We're pretty laid-back people here, and our interests fall in a huge field of topics; enviroment, European Union, animal rights, sexuality questions&church, taxes etc. Also, most of us aren't that religious, so that's never been a big topic in elections. But now it seems the immigrant questions are fueling the popularity of this one national party a lot, and it's creepy :( It's pretty impossible to talk about politics to Juha these days.

The candidate is amazing, I love his charisma and sense of humor, as well as his will to talk things through. I really hope he's going to do well in the elections.

I never win anything, so this was pretty cool :Dv esp since the lottery was world-wide. Got the pics up just a few minutes ago! ^o^

ugggh, man. immigration. i get into arguments with people about it all the time. in the USA a lot of the anti-immigration people seem to think immigrant = criminal. and their reasons are seriously not researched. >:/

Here it goes about this: immigrant=lazy social bum who's milking money from the society. It's true that the allowance immigrants get is BETTER than what students get (and sometimes it pisses the living hell out of me too when I've been eating nothing but tuna for a week and I see a group of immigrant kiddos prancing around in their new 300e sneakers) but people often forget that when these people come here, they have absolutely nothing, so it's reasonable to offer them apartments and money to get onto their feet in a new, strange country ( ... )
