"No one knows about that day or hour, not even the angels in heaven, nor the Son, but only the Father.” Matthew 24:36

"Gabriel, it's time to wake up."

The Archangel known has Gabriel sudden blinked as he looked around in surprise. He was standing in a huge room richly decorated with tapestries, famous paintings, and every species of plants and flowers that ever existed. In the middle of the room was a large chair surrounded by pillows as far as the eyes could see. Gabriel suddenly went cold. He was in his Father's throne room. A throne room that once upon a time had been filled with music, love and laughter. A throne room that had been abandoned when God had left Heaven. Gabriel’s hands started to shake and he closed his eyes has something he had not felt in eons surrounded him.
"Gabriel. Look at me."

The Archangel shook his head in denial and tears started to fill his eyes. This had to be a nightmare. “I can’t, you’re not real.”

A warm hand touched his face. "Look at me, my beloved Son."

Gabriel forced his eyes open and gasped in shock. "Dad?"

God smiled and held out his arms, and Gabriel threw himself into his Father's embrace. God held him has he started to cry, gently rubbing Gabriel back in a soothing gesture and held him until the storm of weeping was over.

“Here, blow your nose,” God said holding out a box Kleenex. Gabriel dutifully blew his nose and shoved the used Kleenex into his pocket refusing to look at his Dad. God sat down on cushion and patted the cushion next to him invitingly. Gabriel gingerly sat down, and looked away flushing with shame.

“It’s not your fault,” God said gently. “None of this was your fault.”

‘I ran away,” Gabriel choked out. “I abandoned my family because I couldn’t deal with them!”

“I understand-“

“No you don’t Dad!” Gabriel suddenly shouted, his voice echoing through the room. “Do you know what it was like after Luci was tossed out of heaven? Do you? The little ones wouldn't stop crying and they kept asking when Luci was coming back. Michael locked himself away, and when he finally came out, he wasn’t Michael anymore. Raphael ? Smug little bastard went around telling everyone that Luci deserved it. Zak? Pod person because that’s the only thing that makes any sense.” Gabriel smiled bitterly at God, tear of anger dripping down his face. “ And then there me. Everybody blamed me, because I was your messenger; because you didn’t have the balls to do it yourself. Do you know what it was like? Nobody would talk me. They treated me like I was invisible, like I beneath them. I came this close to killing myself Dad but that would be a sin in your book, so I ran away. Ran to Earth and turned Pagan instead.

“I’m sorry.”

Gabriel had been expecting a lot of things after his outburst; expect his Dad to smite his sorry ass, or walk away, but not an apology. “What?”

Dad gently touched his knee and Gabriel mouth dropped open at the sorrow and grief written on God’s face. “I was wrong.”

“But, but you’re God! You don’t make mistakes, you can’t make a mistake,” Gabriel stuttered in a stunned voice has the axis of his reality started tilt.

“I may be be God, but I’m a dad who really screwed up,” God said in a heavy voice.
