Sundered Faith, Part Three (3/3)

Final section. (No, I don't have any more story, why do you ask? Carmen certainly didn't help me prod the 'set six months later than this' story into some semblance of order last time I visited. You are being paranoid.)

So I'm a sucker for conspiracy theories and possibly wrote far too many as I went along. )

What's going on with Athena and Snow? :(((

=====

Carmen had already hoist Tae up in a fireman's carry.

“You merely get locked up in a vault for someone else to try and again later,” Petra said with a snicker.

One of the crusaders was returning some holy sword. It’s probably where Vister got the orb of teleportation.”
(Didn't she say she bought it earlier?)

“Theymust ward the evil artifacts they cannot cleanse and store them in the catacombs.”

“What be the odds of something in there was to blame for this temple waking up?”

Athena and Snow is a side plot I realized in part 4! (Your connection to magic is severed. Part of your bond with your animal companion is magic. What happens next?) Also, I don't want to rewrite the Odette rescue scenes where Athena is not and needed a reason why she isn't there. (This is not as depressing as it sounds. There is no dying! Snow possibly does run away for awhile, but there will be a happy ending! All angst should have a happy ending, because I am here to be entertained, not to cry. (I possibly have issues with the way some authors write. (I am looking at you, David Gemmell, you douchebag.)))

Anyways, now that all those parantheses are closed...

Vister merely said she *obtained* an orb of transportation. Now we know how! (It is not really evil, just appropriate *from* evil. This is why it is allowed to be used.)

Your grammar has been corrected. And by corrected, I mean worsened. You backwoods girl, you.

Ah, grand. Happily-resolved angst is A-Okay. <3

Cool, yeah, I didn't actually flip back to check Vister's story. I probably read "obtained" and transposed it to "bought at the bazaar in Waterdeep".

Grammar be for them booksy types !

“Otherwise you would already be re-entering the wheel for a new shot at life.”
(How long does it take a soul (under normal circumstances, when the body isn't vaporized and the soul grabbed like a bug on flypaper) to separate from a body and enter the Wheel? Is there a wake period? How do funeral rituals deal with the Wheel? Is there a deadline before someone can be rezzed? Just curious about the mechanics.)

Odette would not be able to use the orb of teleportation for at least a day-
(Odette got vaporized - what happened to all her stuff? Was someone else holding the Orb, or did some of her powerful items simply survive the magical damage?)

Petra had stopped halfway down, haphazardly juggling in one hand some broken tiles she had found with.
(Dangling "with", there.)

“That castle we first met Petra in, there was a private chapel dedicated to him.”
(I never got around to asking - is this just happenstance, or is that some horribly mighty foreshadowing, eep?)

(edited to close html tags, whoops.)

Seems to me dealing with the Wheel is on a case-by-case basis. Natural causes deaths would feed move you straight in, while murder and such-like might leave one hanging around for a bit. Funeral rites would vary between gods, obviously.

Odette's stuff came back deus ex machina style. (She came back with precisely what she left with, barring the mortal body.)

Wonder what the with use to have attached to it...

Could be foreshadowing, but originally just meant to show his worshippers were found in other places than just on Caldonia.
