Here is a question for all of you (especially for my US citizens friends): Which one of the states was the last one to become a part of the US?

Consider this a multiple choice question - you have 50 choices (well, 37 if you know your 13 colonies). In case you were wondering what prompted me to ask this, it is among the standard questions on the US

I'm going with Alaska or Hawaii but I'm not fully confident that either one of them is the correct answer.

It's Hawaii, and the only reason it's #50 is because of time zone differences - they were both declared states on the same day.
