This Icon is Incredibly Appropriate. (Photos Ahoy!)

Besides being appropriate for this entry, this icon is entirely alysaundre's fault. He said the words; I merely brought the icon into being. However, I forsee a rash of "Rrruffs have rrridges!" icons coming on. There are so many pictures for which such a phrase would make sense. Including the following.

I think that the kitten would be nowhere near as cute without the ruff. The ruff makes the whole thing work.

*squints* Is that bobbin lace on Elizabethan kitty's ruff? It (and the teeny ruff) are gorgeous! Oh goodness I want one. :D Did you make up a pattern, or just wing it? I'm very tempted to try my hand at a puppy, now.

Your socks are HILARIOUS. One could forgo shoes entirely, in something that sturdy.

You have an excellent eye! That is, indeed, bobbin lace, though it is commercially made (we didn't have time to get our hands on any handmade lace). The kitty is my own pattern, based on the knitted kitty pattern pieces. I learned that linen does not stretch like knitted pieces. However, the next kitten will be more proportionate.

They are good socks. We will not see their like again--mostly because they were a pain to knit!
