acts of will can be very, very powerful. When such acts are combined with belief in that which not yet is, the results can be really amazing.

Thats why I hate fatalism ('the so-and-so made me do it') and the idea of preset destiny. That mindset doesn't allow for the powerful change you speak of.

And when all acts of will and acts of faith combine in a single direction, with clear purpose...

True although I would never say that Fate only paved one road per person. I think that's it's charm. It's not about "Fate made me" but more of a " This is what I can accomplish if I do what I'm fated to". Min maxing a bit.
