OHNO SATOSHI:
the Leader and Captain of arashi, both because he's the oldest--and because he won a game of janken with sho when arashi was first formed. (he's like, "no, it's bad! it should be sho!" but apparently sho did all the real leaderly things anyway. XD) ohno is the guy who surprises by being really quite talented: he's one of the best singers of johnny's, he's a really good artist, he's really good at dancing, and um I LOVE HIM. HE IS MY GIRLFRIEND.
he's also the one who can get into trouble by offering too much; there's a series of five or six episodes of mago mago arashi where they become a rowing team, because ohno was like, "well, there are five of us, we could be a rowing team..."
one of his special skills, according to the other members, is staring off into space. XD but when he's onstage, he's very on. (on FIRE. i looove ohno.)
SOLO: he's had a solo tour/concert. also, he's the one most likely to be singing throughout an entire arashi song, or to sing by himself the most. because, as mentioned, he's the best singer. yes. :D!
OH NO ARASHI: ohno's segment of G NO ARASHI, where's he's given a stack of photos and chooses two at random to combine into one drawing, like: buddha on the toilet. or: nino as a famous statue of a dog. things like that. :D
NICKNAMES: they really do all call him LEADER or CAPTAIN, pretty much. except nino will often call him ohchan.
FACIAL HAIR: he had stubble for a little while! i like to call this "a mistake."
ACTING: ohno does, as far as i can tell, almost no television dorama or movies; but he does do a lot of stage plays. like west side story with sho and jun, or a series in which he plays a pivotal member of the shinsengumi.
MAGOMAGO: on magomago arashi, where two members of arashi go to be the grandchildren of an elderly couple for a day, his gift to the grandparents is always a portrait. they're kind of freaky and sweet all at once.
ohno's level up was capoeira. :D

sho is the guy who will get things done. he's the one who was told to arrange for things to happen when arashi was formed, so he did them. he's also the only one who went to college; when he was a junior (as in, a johnny's junior, before he was in arashi), he made school a priority, and you can bet that's at least in part because his parents are kind of elite: his father is a government official, and his mother is the daughter of the mitsui corp, or something along those lines. sho went to keio escalator schools his whole childhood, meaning that when college time came, he was guaranteed a place in keio university, a very prestigious school.
his parents were like, "if you don't go to college and graduate in four years, you can't do johnny's anymore."
ahem. so yeah, he went to college and majored in economics, SO HE COULD STAY IN ARASHI. XD
RAPPING: sho is the rapper of arashi, because you know every jpop boyband must have one. he's said that he can't watch his older performances anymore, because he didn't have any idea what he was doing with the raps. XD now he writes pretty much all the raps for arashi.
COLLEGE: he went! i am so easy to amuse.
PIERCINGS: his belly button is pierced!
GIRLS: sho's taste is actually really conservative. he doesn't like girls who wear spaghetti strap-tank tops and things like that. also, he finds the idea of telling someone he loves them very embarrassing.
ACTING: i have never seen any of it! except for pika*nchi. so i don't know if he's good. XD
MAGOMAGO: his magomago gift is magic tricks. I WISH I WERE JOKING. IT KIND OF MAKES ME WANT TO DIE. XD
SERIOUSLY. HE DOES MAGIC. IT'S SO BAD. XD
AIBA MASAKI:
i--i really don't have much to say about aiba. he joined johnny's because he wanted to play basketball with SMAP, which is a guess as good a reason as any. he's the easiest to find pictures of with other non-arashi johnny's. he's got a VERY distinctive speaking voice. XD
and he's so cute that i could die from it. seriously. i want to adopt him in a really huge way. he's just. he's SO CUTE.
.... seriously, he's SO CUTE. he's very willing to just--try things!
A NO ARASHI: aiba's segment on G NO ARASHI. it's where he experiments! like, "can you breath through a tuber when underwater?" and "what about underwater darts, does it work?" and "can you eat food at minus fifty degrees?" XD like, stuff normal people learn in science class. and you just know aiba is the one actually thinking of them.
ILLNESS: aiba is apparently prone to illness. at one point (during the recording of the "all or nothing" dvd, where the theme was to choose something and get good at it), aiba's lung collapsed and he, obviously, couldn't continue with his "level up."
because of things like this, aiba has spent a huge amount of time putting into words what arashi means to him, and what the other members mean to him.
ACTING: aiba, as near as i can tell, isn't really in things either. he is, however, on a bunch of shows that have him going to zoos around the world. seriously, he spends a lot of time babysitting small animals, like himuken the lion cub. HIMUKEN THE LION CUB. SERIOUSLY. OMG.
MAGOMAGO: aiba gives massages to the grandmother. :D
this is from the cosplay episode of D no arashi. aiba and jun visited various otaku, and of course got them to dress up--but at the girl otaku's house, aiba felt it was totally necessary to dress up as well. XD
NINOMIYA KAZUNARI:
"nino" to fans and "kazu" to host club attendees/restaurant working grandmothers*, nino is the emoboy of arashi. he plays guitar and writes his own songs and everything, kids. he's not bad!
he was forced into joining johnny's because his sister and/or a cousin sent in his photo for the application, and his mother gave him fifty bucks to go to the audition itself. XD!
he's best friends with sho.
NI NO ARASHI: nino has a segment on one of arashi's variety shows called NINO ARASHI in which he pranks members of arashi and other unfortunate people who happen to be nearby. he uses hidden cameras, and gets people to go along with it. there are often long shots of everyone else's shocked faces, which is, you know--you'd think they'd be used to it by now! it's pretty fantastic.
THE BLUE LIGHT: "ao no hono-o" is a movie that nino's in which really blew me away; it's dark and interesting and painful, in places. nino plays a seventeen year old with a terrible person living in his house.
ACTING: actually, nino is a really excellent actor; in addition to the blue light, he's in a bunch of things i haven't seen, and then a dorama series called stand up about nino and three of his friends being the last three virgins in their grade. XD plus, he's in an upcoming clint eastwood movie about the battle of iwo jima, called "red sun, black sand."
BALDNESS: for one role, he played a cancer kid, and shaved his head on camera. until his hair grew back he wore the hats that have little bits of hair sticking out from underneath. oh, so classy, nino.
FUN FACT: he seems to be the most likely to use a headset mic!
MAGOMAGO: he sings a song. it's pretty cute.

"matsujun" to friends and fans, this boy is capable of looking SO COOL sometimes and SO RIDICULOUS other times. also: he is very, very gay. like. you maybe need to see it in action, but he's a very fabulous fellow with some fabulous mannerisms, and of course i'm mocking, but i mock with love.
also, apparently he and his sister text bizarre things to each other all the time.
FUN FACT: jun is an "elite" of johnny's because he never needed to audition, johnny called him up one day and was like, "are you busy tomorrow," and he wasn't, HISTORY MADE.
FUN FACT: jun almost always has one nail painted a different color! also: he wears glasses sometimes! and i think he looks awesome when he's dressed himself as a hipster.
FUN FACT: i read somewhere that he's S, as in a sadist! i can't remember where! woo!
HE ACTS: in plays, and in tv dorama like kimi wa petto (he's the pet, in this case XD), gokusen (which is loads of fun), hana yori dango* (again with the fabulousness!), and, and i'm not sure if this is a movie or a drama, a series called "the sister i love" or something like that.
MAGOMAGO: jun takes photographs for the magomago gifts.
* there is a variety show in which a comedian HARD GAY makes a mini-movie of his own staring himself and matsujun's character from hana yori dango. OH, THE LAUGHS, THEY KEEP COMING.
