Edutainment post: Adam the Hypocrite

I feel so...hypocritical.  All last semester I proclaimed my love for the metric system.  And now I'm working at a place that does measurements almost exclusively in imperial units.

No metric tonnes, no meters cubed.  no kilograms.  Even the degrees are in Fahrenheit.  I think.  Voluminous flow is measured in cubic feet per minute.  And they use... ( Read more... )

So when that song says "I love you a bushel and a peck," that actually just means 5 pecks, or 1.25 bushels? That kind of ruins it for me somehow.

Sorry to ruin 'that song'. Most of my music doesn't have words, so I don't really know what you're talking about.

Most of my music with words is in Elvish. Or some other non-human language.

I don't know what your talking about. All our cold rooms are in celcius, and so is our oven. It was annoying when I was ordering wheels/casters for cart that were in inches, especally because I had taken my measurements in metric.

Maybe the conditioning lab is just an aberration. It certainly seems like everything we do is in english.
