I had the absolute funniest idea ever this morning during sunday school.

So we were talking about the Holy Spirit descending and such. And I started laughing. Because the idea of suddenly acquiring the Holy Spirit seems like a Zelda game feature.

You've got the magic powder Holy Spirit!

No, I think Jim's right. Link's a Kokiri, right? An invented faux-mythological being, kindofa thing. Elves don't have fairy guardians. That would be silly. But Kokiri do. Or rather…Link is halfway a Kokiri and halfway a Hylian, caught between the two worlds - just as he is caught, one might even say, between childhood and adulthood, innocence and maturity…! Oh, how I loved Zelda back in the day. Look at that allegory! Just look at it! Ocarina of Time, you are my favorite game ever.

Nah, Link ain't no Kokiri. Not even halfway, mang. He just dresses like one. 'Member the Deku tree? It mos def told Link he was a Hylian. So maybe he really isn't an Elf, as in a real Elf type man, but I think Adam believes there should be a race of Elves in every world, and as Hyrule is totally lacking, Hylians were the closest ting, man. It's like a "brutha from anutha mutha" thing, like dey bof got pointy ears, and that's enough to love him for, hey.

I'd comment on your blasphemy...but I think that maybe when I was in confirmation class and we were talking about the Holy Spirit and the 7 gifts, (seeing as how that's a big confirmation thingy what with recieving them and all). I think a similar sort of link (ha, Link) may have been made. But far from being accused of blasphemy we ran with it including our teachers.

Then again maybe I just made it all up, but it's the sort of thing that could've happened.

Shockingly, I don't own any Zelda games. My sister has Link's awakening. And I have some remixed Zelda music.

And Zelda/Link/Shiek/Ganondorf/Young Link are all in Super Smash Bros Melee, which I own.

But no actual Zelda games. Now that I think about it, it's very odd.
