Fancy things!

This afternoon brought the triple crown of fancy things. First was a trip up to the city for a client meeting and a stop at the little deli in the Ferry Market. Sichuan Peppercorns

If you have a Chinese or Asian market in town, they usually have whole Sichuan peppercorns in the spice section, in little sealed cellophane bags.

We tried multiple asian markets (including a herbalist), and finally had success on the fourth one. The cookies came out amazing, especially with all the fresh and vibrant spices.

I plan on trying a batch with dried tangerine peel (ground) to see how it compares with the fresh. But the response so far has been "wow!"

I am really proud of them. They are one of my more original cookie recipes.

Tonight, we are making a batch of what I think will be called Coyote Chip Cookies....

Why Coyote Chip?

Well, because they have everything -but- a Coyote in them.
