More grey hair

My husband called me when I was at work today. He NEVER calls me. Ever. Unless there's an emergency. I know he's the weak link where the dogs are concerned. With the breed we have, vigilance is forever required. Letting our guard down means we could lose our dogs and another dog could be injured. Well, he let two out in the driveway while he ( Read more... )

Aw man, sorry to her! Thankfully they're not reporting it, but I hope the vet bill won't be too bad.

They never took the dog to the vet! They forgot 'cause they were painting a room *cocks eyebrow* Bentley ended up with two punctures, they were small but we are still giving him antibiotics. Punctures are nasty and will fester into hard core infections in no time. One of our Boxers ended up with huge infection in her lower leg from a very small pucture. I guess we didn't really need to worry about them reporting it if they can't be bother to get their dog in.

The fence is half done so my kids will be safe from themselves, sigh.

Yay for the fence.

But man, I feel sorry for their dog if they can't even be bothered to have him checked out.
Hope Bentley's fine!

Oh, man - we had something just like happen the other day! Since the neighbors moved in with their two dogs, their large bitch has taunted my Ceili into fence fighting. She growls and howls at my girl, digs under the fence, and is generally a pain in the ass. So - the neighbor decides to walk her dogs down the alley way, the bitch starts up at Ceili again - and Ceili and Griff break down the fence. Ceili jumped the other dog, and when she got knocked down (the other dog is a Great dane/mastiff mix), Griff jumped in.

No legal action, but scared the shit out of me.

O-O Christ! Ceili wasn't hurt was she? It really should be painful to be so freakin' stupid. WHY would she be crazy enough to walk her dog next to two dogs willing to break a fence down? Common sense would make it clear that AVOIDING that area MIGHT be a good idea!

I've had kids stand on the other side of the fence and egg my dogs on. This happened before Bentley and Lena came to us. One kid in particular would stand on a stump adjacent to the fence and "woof woof" at our old girl. She is NOT stable and would jump the fence. That kid didn't much like me, I wasn't nice to her! Better than having Sasha jump the fence and scare the crap out of her though.

No, none of the dogs were hurt, and yes - one would think she'd have enough sense to realize that her dogs were "instigators", and to keep them away. To put the rotten cherry on the sundae, two years ago their ferret got into our back yard and Ceili ate it. They did realize that it was their fault then, too, but - let's just say good will is not building...

Sorry, I laughed about the ferret before I told myself "that's not funny" :-\ It seems that where dogs are concerned, they can destroy any possible amicable interactions faster than any other animal. People either get it, or they don't. There doesn't seem to be any middle ground.

The people who owned this place before us bred rabbits. They would let them run the back yard. The neighbor dog would eat them when they dug under the fence... Bad feelings to say the least. They were VERY happy when we moved in.
