Just goes to show that when someone's handing you bureaucratic shit, you should call on Joanie.

My initial install was a bit of the usual type delays, but it went smoothly. The upgrade to TiVo the tech was like 5 hours late. Both times though the techs were good at what they did and very cooperative about doing a bit of extra work that they could have charged me for.

I <3 my satellite and my Direct TV. I see adds from the cable company and laugh because I hates them too. Dish Network has a deal with my local phone service, so I could get a big drop ... but I like my DirecTV too much.

I must be Texas that sucks because everything is rosie in the Garden State ;-P

If i I used profanity; they would stop listening.

A very good point to remember during these situations. (And many other situations.)

I feel sorry for a lot of the folks involved. (Including you and your family.) You're at the end of a long line of people who have been given "responsibilities" and "are held accountable" and all that. I suspect that some of the installer types are contractors with their own managers who make promises to DirectTV and then skimp wherever they can to cut costs, without informing DirectTV of the details. I don't feel sorry for the contractor-manager types; I feel sorry for their employees who have to answer customer calls but have no information.

I have found that change can be effected by connecting pain to the right people.
