I think that Pandora does not have a full catalog. I think the major labels have been unwilling to cooperate, or going back and forth on the issue. I haven't kept close tabs on it.
So with a limited catalog, Pandora does its best, with the expected results.
I would use it where it makes sense but not spend a lot of time on it.
It's a neural net, kind of anyway, so it has a tough learning curve up front but gets better fast. What you should do is add musc to your station manually for a bit. There's a menu item for adding a song or artist to a station.
For instance, when pandora didn't understand the essential weirdness of Warren Zevon I manually added Robyn Hitchcock and Elvis Costello to his station and that helped a lot.
Also, there is an option for not playing this song for some set period of time - I think it's a month - if you're sick of a song. Good luck with it!
Yep, what she said. And I like the eclectic mix up: If I knew what I wanted to listen to, I'd cue it up in the music player. The idea is that it'll bring up something that I might like that I've not heard before. (I discovered 88 lines about 44 women that way)
Heh, yeah, you've got to love the Nails right? I think "A few of the things you left behind" is their best song, even if 44 lines is their most famous.
