While worlds were ending/beginning

So I get up this morning, and I see that of course everyone's talking about the BSG finale. To be expected. Great show, at least for a while, even if it lost me this season. I may still check out the end sometime. *Shrugs ( Read more... )

BSG had moments of goodness in it's finale. I'm a sucker for sap and they had some swelling music moments that made me nostalgic. it also had moments of heavy handedness that were eh. Not the best finale ever but not the worst. few finales really give you exactly what you need. i'm trying to think of any that ever have. ????

dollhouse: well i finally connected to Ballard.. he was just kind of annoying me. I loved that we didn't have a typical doll engagement and just hung around the house. I like that there are so many factors at work: alpha, insider, plus all the regular people (dolls, handlers, dewitt/dominic, topher and the grunts (including amy acker), the FBI)

I love Mellie's character. unfortunately imdb spoiled that surprise for me but i still love her. I'm curious about why Boyd said 'the dolls are all broken' or whatever. was he just being metaphorical about these poor mind-wiped peeps?

Perfect finales, hmm...does Peacekeeper Wars count as a finale? Otherwise...I can think of perfect season finales, but I dunno if I can think of a show-ender that summed everything up just the way I wanted. But that's probably more about fans each having our own specific laundry-list of relationships, character moments, etc. we want to see dealt with just so before the end.

Dollhouse: yeah, totally loved the structure of this ep, how you had what seemed like a set of subplots, but each one led into the other, and they all connected. Beautifully done.

'The dolls are all broken'--yeah, I'd forgotten about that line. I think maybe he meant they're all vulnerable (as opposed to the problem coming from one of them 'malfunctioning'), and it was inevitable someone would take advantage--which is pretty much what the @$$-wipe said when DeWitt was interrogating him.

"There are three flowers in a vase. The third flower is green." Also *punch in the face* scene- Oh hells yeah!

Im secretly wishing that Adam Baldwin will be Alpha, for just because.

I loved Echo's face when she saw the romantic bedroom and gasped "Porn!", and also the fact that a normal looking guy like Patton's character (Ive always thought Patton was kinda cute) could get a total hottie like his wife and therefore the replacement as well-Echo ('buying' her aside).

There's too much to process with this show, I need to start taking notes or something, heh.

Yeah, LOVED Melly going ninja on the creep, even if I wasn't *entirely* surprised.

Adam Baldwin would rock.

Did we ever see Patton Oswald's character's actual wife? I'd forgotten.

And yeah, definitely so much to the show. That's why even when a lot of other people were pretty dubious on the show/concept, I was already psyched. There's so much to explore in these ideas and set-ups, and I trust Joss to make the most of the worlds he creates. Really hope he gets time to really play with this one. I know it'll only get better and better.

Ok, NOT reading the spoiler, 'cause I've been pretty good so far avoiding those. :?P Thanks, though!

Serenity as a series finale? Sure, I'd allow it--and that'd definitely be a perfect one in my book.

What were your PK Wars issues?
