Yeah, nothing like the stress of waiting for a baby that is really happy where she is. My son just did not want to come out.

A head's up. I was doing induced labor without epidural, and it was goign VERY SLOWLY, and quite painfully. I finally went ahead and got the epidural, and WHAM, BABY OUT. Could have been coincidence, but it was certainly a dramatic one.

Artificially induced labor with the pitocin drip, according to my friends in the baby delivery profession, is especially brutal. Remember, there is no shame in saying uncle and getting the epidural if you are being induced and it is just more than you can handle. Think of it as an advanced lesson about motherhood - sometimes you have to adjust your plans when things go pear shaped.

If you don't want your Dad in the house, put your spouse on Dad patrol. And you can play the post-partum hormones card, too! Or just whip it out and feed that kid right there in the middle of the living room! That, at least, will make him go the hell away! :D

I think that if I have to be induced, I may just do the epidural. But I am really hoping that it doesn't come to that. Trying to cut down on stress may just help. And happily, I have found a solution to reducing some of my stress.
Thank you for the advice hun. Your advice and scary pregnancy blog has helped give me ideas and heads up. I need all the help that I can get at this point!

it's not a bad thing to be late...my friend at work that has had like 4 kids says that the first one is usually late. So don't worry.

Inducement..inducing? Whatever...statistically to needing a c-section. So keep that in mind. You don't have to induce if you don't want to unless it's like 2 weeks post due date.

We love you guys and are coming to help you out. Meeting sprout is a bonus yes...but if we have to wait we won't complain (audibly ;p) You shouldn't have to support your dad...you just shouldn't.
