The second part of my Christmas took place back home in Randolph, NY.

So, last weekend was great. Serenity was awesome! And we were able to make it out to NY to see friends and family, but I'm paying for it now. Too much in too short a time. My body has decided to revolt. I'm now unable to talk (except the occasional squeak), and I feel like lying in bed for the next week. Of course I also have about 90 things ( Read more... )

So this week I started back to grad school. My first night class was Thursday after a full day of teaching. Luckily, it was a pretty un stressful class. We drew on cash register tape for the first hour, talked about the syllabus the second, and then discussed why we choose to teach, where we are currently teaching, and where we hope this ( Read more... )

So this week began the 2005-2006 school year. I have 32 kindergartners (not all together on the same day) and a great new assistant teacher named Rick. The first week has run smoothly, with the typical slow transitions and jumbling of the schedule until we figure out what works best. So this past Wednesday, Daniel and I packed up our things once again and headed up to the White Mountains to meet my parents for a few more days of camping. We arrived to a very busy North Conway and after much sitting in slow traffic, made our way to the dry river campground.
