Apartment hunting and interviewing

Right, so the big news is that we are going to move to Raleigh, hopefully in about a month or so. I've got an interview tomorrow morning with the Teller Manager of the branch I'm hoping to transfer to. With any luck that will go well, and I'll know soon whether or not giving notice next week will be a good move. I'm really afraid to give notice ( Read more... )

We're looking at this place called Mission Millbrook. It's across the street from the suburb where my parents live. It's a 2br/2ba, 960 sq ft for $658. We'd like something in Raleigh, preferrably North Raleigh if I'm going to be working in RTP, although we're considering certain parts of Cary as possibilities. We're trying to stay at or below $700/month to give us wiggle room in case something unforseeable and awful happens.

Thanks for any insight you have ^_~

PS I haven't heard from you in forever!

Well I can't say I'd complain because the area from anything I can tell is about the same as it has been, I'm living in Windimere which is more expensive than you are looking at but it's all in the same area so I'd say go for it. I'll do alittle hunting myself too, but let me know when you need help moving in.

Oh, I just noticed there were replies! If you are working in RTP, Garner probably isn't a good idea. I was working in downtown, so it was close. I haven't heard of Mission Millbrook, but it sounds like a good deal and nice that it's near your family. North Raleigh is nice :)

We're really hoping to avoid student housing. One of our biggest complaints about the place we live in right now is having obnoxious neighbors. Living somewhere with fewer students wouldn't guarantee a better community, but we have the general impression that it coulnd't hurt. We are, however, open to possibilites. Rob didn't seem to have a stellar memory of your place near Centennial, although I could be confusing the description with the place that got noise from the stadium. . . I'm not sure.

I know what you mean about the apartments in Raleigh. It took me a while to finally face the fact that Raleigh is a much bigger city than Greenville and has higher cost of living. So, you won't find an apartment with Greenville type prices in Raleigh without also hearing about shootings in the area ( ... )
