Quite the opposite of blasphemy, I think.

I tried to read the first one and couldn't make it past Chapter One. I think "Bella Swan" is about the most obnoxious character I've ever read, and it was only made worse because of the way the book is written so that "I" am supposed to be her. ::Shudders:: If I ever act like that I hope someone will shoot me and put themselves out of my misery.

She has an ego the size of Wyoming and an emo the size of Alaska, neither of which I find appealing even if her habit of ranking everyone she sees by how white they are is overlooked...

Maybe you and my friend alatariel_tari should get together, though -- she likes the series, too.

Awesome idea for a counter Melian. Did you create it yourself? I agree that the first book was the weakest in many aspects, yet I also was a little diapointed how the movie watered things down a bit. There is a show that comes on HBO called True Bloood that has a similar story line but is oriented towards an older audience and has a lot more action which is awesome. I have only seen it once and am too cheap to get HBO but I am hoping TB comes to dvd soon.

By the way, I will be flying to Japan in August for 2 job interviews and to see Sonic Youth at Summer Sonic music festival. I have an hour layover in Cincinnati. Do you live near there. Hope life is treating you well.
