How to get adblocked

I use Firefox as my primary web browser. One of its major features is the ability to add extensions to its functionality, and one of the most popular extensions is Adblock, which works as a simple image, frame and applet blocker based on a blacklist. The Google toolbar is pretty good at blocking most ads as well.

Thanks for the info. Google toolbar only works on IE for Windows. I don't use IE, and I'm not running Windows, so I don't really know what the Toolbar offers or how it works. Firefox already has a built-in Google-based search function, no extensions required. It had a popup blocker long before IE did (although there's a bug/functionality lapse that prevents it from blocking some of the newer pop-unders). There is an open-source Googlebar, but it looks to me like it's of limited use.

I run Firefox at home too (at least part of the time), but for a number of reasons I have to use IE at work. I thought there may have been a version of the toolbar for Firefox in the offing, but I'm not at all sure about that.

As far as I can tell from a quick Google search, no. Anyway, considering Firefox's default features and the already existing extension set, I still don't think it would be very useful.
