Late to the party ;-)

OK, lots of you have recommended "Misfits" to me, with the one from doubtingmichael being the last straw - because if he liked it, then I reckoned there was a good chance the MIB would watch it with me. So I got a slightly late Xmas present, and now we have watched both series in not much more than a week - it's rather nice to have something we can both be fannish about, for a change - just one more wafer thin episode before bedtime - it's less than an hour, you know ;-)

I'll try not to spoil the plot, which contains some fine revelations - only a few of which I had received hints about. A couple of Daffodil Ranger's schoolfriends have watched it, so we had tell her off for providing spoilers - I wouldn't mind her viewing it, but it does live up to its 15 and 18 certificate for sexual content, so I don't think she would feel comfortable at all watching it with her parents, or indeed vice-versa. There were definitely some parts, like episode 1.2, that I would not like to watch with anyone I was not completely relaxed with - how British does that make me?

The story is fantastical, but both the super powers and the characterisations were consistent enough that I felt no need to shout at the television, which is always good. The humour is very crude, but even handed, and none of the main characters are really nasty people, just human, with flaws and strengths exaggerated, and we get to understand them quite well. I think many of you would enjoy it, and both series are very reasonbaly priced on Amazon ;-)

And now the obligatory sorting, because I can - five misfits map on to five band members quite neatly :-)

Nathan, of course, wants to be Robbie Williams, and I guess he must be the dafter sort of Gryffindor.

Alisha is Markie, and Hufflepuff or Gryffindor would suit.

Simon could be either Gary or Jason - maybe Jason because he's a thinker, and logically a Ravenclaw?

Curtis is the ambitious one, who knows he's got talent - and in a way the natural leader - so Gary then - one of the good Slytherins?

And Kelly is quite a good fit for Howard - taking no nonsense and a solid friend - Hufflepuff through and through.

You may all laugh at me now ♥

ETA: doubtingmichael has convinced me that Curtis is a Hufflepuff, and probably Jason, and that Simon/Gary is the best fit. House debatable, but I still favour Slytherin for them.
