When I've got a more coherent sorting of the list, I'll let you all know. For now, aficionados of "goldfish crackers" and "hospice workers" will have to suffer without contact with their fellow interest-sharers. Those damn perverts

Well I can't hep you as far as what the difference is between the two, but neither of them look like they have been blocked (yet) as I just added them as an interest to the userinfo of a crap community I have for testing layouts (_freeipodsconga)and it now shows up when you do the interest search. The interests aren't clickable on the userinfo, but I seem to recall that being normal for any interest on LJ that has under a certain number of people listing it.
I'm not too sure about that. In my profile I have inanimate object porn listed, but mine is the only user or comm to list it. It's clickable. It's compliment (animate object porn) has the same result, but isn't.
I'd say not deleted, cuz then the name would be open again. But suspended accounts still have all their data out there, just no one can see it or access it.
Deleted accounts are still in the servers for at least 30 days, and a lot of people occasionally delete their account for a week or so to get away from a stalking ex, or to hide their stuff from work.
Plus, of course, those who are migrating and leaving LJ entirely have deleted accounts.
Wandering by to talk about black power, etc. I assume LJ didn't ban those interests because they aren't used by groups that commit hate crimes. There has never been a black organization in the US that advocated indiscriminate killing of whites to "keep them in their place." Groups advocating black Americans defend themselves against white supremacists have been numerous (most notable: the Black Panthers and the Deacons of Defense).
I recommend reading Witchqueen's tag on race for an excellent take on questions such as, "Is the term honky racist?" This post is essential.
1) White power is blocked; black power is not. Thus, the discussion of why "black power" is not a racist phrase is topical.
2) Doesn't matter if it's connected; stewardess is someone I know IRL, and may point me at tangential topics that she knows I'm interested in. Or possibly entirely unrelated topics that she thought about because of one of my posts. Or unrelated topics that she thought I should see, and this was my most recent post so she left a comment on it.
3) I'm a devout Discordian; I'm entirely unconcerned with whether a comment is related to the issue (whatever the issue is) as long as it's interesting. Or weird enough. The only reason to stick to a topic is that it means the reader is already in the mindset for a particular type of info; the topic works as buildup that the commmenter doesn't have to provide.
4) I should stop now, before I go onto a long ramble about posts-as-foreplay and comments as, ummm, whatever happens after foreplay.

I'll poke at it later (umm... this evening, or over the weekend) 'cos there's a limit to how many of those kinds of searches I should do at work.

Sorry, I somehow didn't get that. Must have been a bit asleep this morning. Sorry again, I didn't mean to appear rude.
