It's odd to look at a single biz-card sized thing on a sheet of regular paper. It needs to be cut out to be sure, to really know if it's arranged right. (Normal business cards don't need this step, 'cos we've got some idea what they look like. But any other composition on 2½" x 3½" paper is strange.)
And cutting it out means not using that paper again. (Plus, while I can print as many samples as I want from home, I can't do lots of color printing at work. "A sheet of cards for me," sure. "Fifteen test pages"--no. Even if there's only one card on each of them, because ink isn't as much of a concern as page counts; we pay by the page.)
Close, but not quite. No, this had a specific purpose, wasn't for gathering info. (Even such useless info as "who answers my posts even when they're fairly pointless?")
My primary annoyance with laptop remains that the damn keyboard is three inches farther away than I want it to be, because of the touchpad. (The little mouseball-in-the-middle thing is atrocious, and not an acceptable substitute.) I hate the touchpad too, but I gather I could get around that by keeping a mouse or trackball with me; I'd be okay with that.
Some of them, the keyboards are arranged hideously--all the non-alphanumeric keys are in weird places that have no connection to where my fingers are reaching. But even the well-arranged ones have that problem about my palms are stuck resting on exactly the corner of the machine.
I am near-oblivious to software. And hardware. I suppose I wouldn't really be happy with something running Win98, but I'd consider learning something Linux-ish. Which, I gather, requires much less hardware.
(We have a pizza stone. We'll probably get around to parchment paper, now that we're gonna have bread often enough to experiment with it.)

Aaahhh, well that make a difference. Aren't there templates for business cards at various manufacturer sites?
Or this place, downloads as a zip file: http://www.free-business-card-templates.com/

I'm not designing a business card; I'm designing something else in the same amount of space.

I have a lot of opinions about laptops, especially for little money.
