I love this. I haven't read the PD for about forty years, and I had actually forgotten about all of this. It is also something I need to ponder especially in the light of my own current state of UPG and our current political situation. Thank you...more than serendipity. It's the Sacred Chao.

But what happens when you pick a different window?

Not being sarcastic here.

I agree with the eristic idea that the grid is not the reality, but I sometimes think even open minded seekers forget that there is more than one window, as well as more than one grid; or in Leary's terminology, more than one reality tunnel, as well as them being focused in different directions.

You look at a different part of reality. Which is still going to be filtered through your grid. Of course, some people keep swapping both grids and windows until they have no idea whatsoever how to relate to anyone else.

Although I believe Leary's "reality tunnel" is directly comparable, perhaps just a different term for, the Principia's "grids."

I actually agree tht Grid and reality tunnel are two different terms for the same type of thing.

My point in poking was serious as well as teasing, though. I think sometimes even those who try to see through other grids/reality tunnels learn a few, and then stop learning about others, content with what they have learned.

And yes, it is certainly possible to confuse one's self, or in some cases to damange ones cognitive or social functionality. I don't mean the latter just in regards to methods of achieving different world views, although that is perhaps the obvious possibility. I mean that when one accumulates sufficiently different world-views, it can become difficult to focus on one specific one - whichever one is required to deal with a specific set of people (like the set comprising mainstream american culture).
