I am now in Harpers Ferry, West Virgina. This is the emotional, if not actual, half way point of the Appalachian Trail. I dragged my butt into town yesterday and struggled up from Lower Town to the Appalachian Trail Conservancy headquarters, managing to arrive hot and sweaty at their office front doors- at exactly 5:03pm. Mister Explorer - What about storms? While it has been a mostly hot and dry summer, we have had a few very nasty storms run through Jawga. I'm sure they vistited you as well. What was the learning curve? Do you lose entire days just avoiding rain or do you go walkin' in the rain ( ... )

Ya know, ya might consider an update sometime. Somebody might get the impression you're still on the Trail freezing your ass (or what there is of an ass) off. :p

(Plus, since your provider is bouncing me as a spammer and we're never on IM at the same time, this might be the best way to keep up-to-date.)

True. I didn't really get the impression that people were following the journal though, and since getting online became less of a priority I didn't go out of my way to bother either.

I also am probably on at the same time as you often, but I don't like yahoo messenger being on since it spams me with ads and takes over my desktop. If there is a way for it to be a totally background process until I get a call I'd leave it running all the time though?

I normally don't use Yahoo (unless I want to use the voice feature), but when I do I don't have problems with spamming. I wonder if it's the version you're using. Normally, though, I agree that Yahoo is crap. I use Trillian, which let's me connect to several IM clients (such as Yahoo, AIM, MSN, etc.).
