Yay, it's posted! You already know how much I enjoyed this fic, what I didn't say was thanks for reminding me how layered The Changeling is, how layered Teal'c is, and for opening the door on Teal'c's thought process in the aftermath. That it had Sam and Teal'c friendship that didn't in any way take away from the Teal'c and Daniel interaction in the episode but, rather, blended beautifully and complemented it, was the icing on the cake.
I've only just re-watched 'The Changeling' and was once again knocked out by how wonderful it is in every way, with so many new layers of Teal'c revealed. Thanks so much for your beta, hon, and for the comment. :)
You are just going to town posting SG-1 fic, aren't you ELG? I'm not complaining. :-D
OMG! I just reveled in the complexity of Teal'c's emotions in this story. You really dealt with the unreality of T and the fireman world (Personally, given Teal'c's penchant for cheesy pop culture, I figure he's watched a lot of Emergency! reruns. Hee hee.) with this "real-er" version of the SGC in a very believable manner, and his doubts about both. And regrieving for Daniel, and realizing Sam grieved for him and...AW!
I love how Sam reads Pride and Prejudice to him as the best book ever written. I just knew she shared my taste ever since she revealed love of "Singin in the Rain". :-)
This quiet time of comfort and self reflection was just luxurious. Thank you for sharing it.
BTW, what is Turkish delight? I only know it from the Narnia tales.
LOL! Well, this was the only one I actually sat down and wrote recently (ie yesterday), although I get to look very industrious just through clearing out my HDD. *g* Thank you so much for reading and commenting. I wish I had more ideas for Teal'c fic. I love the character so much and yet never seem to have as many ideas for stories involving him as I do for Jack, Daniel, or Sam.
BTW, what is Turkish delight? I only know it from the Narnia tales. It's made of very sweet and quite sticky gelatinous cubes usually of rose and lemon flavour (so, pink cubes and yellow cubes) that are dusted with icing sugar and which are usually (over here in the UK) sold in round wooden boxes, and eaten with a wooden fork. There is mint flavour as well but that's slightly harder to get hold of. And sometimes it's sold with a chocolate coating, as with bars of Fry's Turkish Delight. In my young day, the advert for it usually involved a handsome sheik on a beautiful horse presenting a box of the stuff to a beautiful woman in a tent in a desert (denoted by a

Oh, nice. I love this. I adore that Sam's favorite book is Pride and Prejudice -- it's such an overtly girly side of Sam that rings true. And Teal'c's take on that is priceless.
There should be more post-Changeling fic. This is great.
I like to think of Sam secretly doing girly things when she doesn't have to spend every minute with a bunch of guys. (And I'm sure she's a much better influence on Teal'c than Jack when it comes to Ways To Spend Their Days Off.) I'd love more post-Changeling fic to read too.
