Well, Harry's scar wasn't the Horcrux, Harry himself was. Beyond that, I kind of wished I hadn't known all the theories in advance, because the entire ending was just like "Yeah, yeah, have I read this somewhere already?" Nevertheless, I'm glad it all worked out, because the theories were brilliant and I really did mostly like the ending Rowling worked out.
For some reason, this book was really flat for me. I didn't feel any emotions at all. I was convinced I would be crying through the whole thing, but I didn't. It took me FOREVER to read, though (I went straight from 9 am to 8 pm) because I kept having to reread battle scenes to figure out what had happened. There were a lot of unclear passages in this one.
It's good you got to take a lot of breaks, though. That's what I did with Half-Blood Prince, and that made it a much better experience. As for reading parties, I so would've done one if I had any friends here.
