Snow and nostalgia...

It is snowing.  For anyone that has ever lived anywhere near Austin, TX, you know this is a very rare event.  I miss snow with a passion.  Although I have no desire to drive on slick, icy roads, I have great memories of snow as a kid.  I also have some great memories of my first semester in college at UMich ( Read more... )

Lol. I'd ship snow out to you every year if I could come up with a way to do it and in enough mass that the roads here aren't always slick with it. -grumbles something about horrible Michigan weather- Don't get me wrong, I do love the seasons - but just how fast and inconsistently they change drives me crazy. We had several inches of snow the other day and now have next to none and it's raining... I'm betting we're going to freeze it all tonight. -headdesk- I like seasons, but maybe we could get weather that makes up it's mind? :P

Oh, I'd love to live near the mountains too. And I think you named some nice in-between states. Sure beats the weather we get up here... but I'd hate to go completely without it. -nods- As much as I hate driving in this kind of weather, I do like seeing it each year.

I loved Michigan while I was there, but I didn't drive in the weather, I used public transport. I think that I would want to live in a city if I lived that far north. I would rather someone else did the driving. ;)

Yeah, there are some states that I have researched and seem really beautiful. I have lived all over the US and I like most places in some way or another. There is always at least one reason to like living in a certain place. I do like Austin, but I would prefer to live somewhere with seasons.
