  1. It starts off in medias res, with people all of a sudden noticing that they have amnesia, or gaping wounds, or breasts.
  2. It's not actually a story, it's a snippet. Or three lines. Or a description of what I'd write if I were writing a story.

1. It is extraordinary visual, almost cinematic.

2. Aaron Sorkin or Joss Whedon would be happy to claim any of the dialogue as their own.

3. Though usually almost effulgent with witty observation it is not just a shiny veneer, at the heart of it there's always some emotional truth.

4. It exposes new facets of long-familiar characters.

5. It makes people very happy.
