What better way to restart this journal than a new piece of Harry Potter fanart?!

How absolutely wonderful! I love your journey through artwork in pictures. You've always been so talented!

Thank you!! Glad you enjoyed it!
Talent - I guess it is a part of artistic success, however especially in the last few years I learned that practise and patience are equally important. Which also means that in some years I will have improved even more. That's what I love about this meme. It's a great tool for recognizing progress. :D

Lots of improvement. :) I love looking at stuff like this. It's one of the things I like about comic strips, being able to look back at old strips, whether in web archives or in bound collections, and seeing how the artist developed over the years. Good stuff. I particularly like the second one on the bottom, the black and white one.

Thank you, Angie!
I like that about comic strips too. The meme is a great tool for recognizing progress which is often quiet hard to do without any help.

If you like the black and white one, I'm happy to reveal to you that I will show the whole painting here soon, because it is actually a fanart for another fandom and it might even get published! :)

What better way indeed? That is (as always ;)) a lovely piece of art. They all look so much fresher than poor battered Harry.

And that meme is really impressive in your case. Particularly your progress with faces is amazing.
I'm shocked how many of your more recent pieces I've never seen though. O.ó

Decision to concentrate on traditional media

YAY! (Says she who never truly warmed up to digital art, even yours ;))

Thank you! *hugs*
I really am impressed by what is possible with digital media, however after years of trying I have to admit that it's not for me. I might try again in a few years, but for now I prefer the brush in my hand, it feels so much more natural to me, much more like what I think what art might be.

I'm sorry for confusing everyone with what I show 'where'. I will soon update my Deviant Art gallery, so you will see some of the newer pieces there.
I do show most of the art in my art blog which I linked a while ago in my journal.

OT: Will you by any chance come to elfys party on Saturday?

Sneaky Elia, hiding things all over the place ;)

Yes, I probably will, I just don't know when and how long I'll manage to stay (due to the old weekend = building = exhausted Lyra is exhausted).
I'll try to think of your cake pan though ;)

Right, I keep forgetting the pan. XD But true it is missed.

Hope to see you on Saturday!!
