In May Lynn Flewelling, the author of the Nightrunner Series (who happens to have her blog on LJ (otterdance) announced that she was going to make a chapbook with short stories of some missing scenes and backgrounds of her characters. That was great news as I've been in love with Seregil and Alec for years now!! But that was not all. She also intended to ( Read more... )

Wow - congratulations! :)
Es ist ja toll, dass dein Beitrag dafür ausgewählt worden ist! Besonders die Architekturelemente mit ihrem leichten Renaissancetouch, der ganz gut zu dem Setting passt, gefallen mir sehr.

Awesome! And - congratulations! For some reason, the roses up front and the fountain impress me most. That, and the 'colour' scheme - did you paint this in colour and turned it into shades of grey digitally, or did you actually paint it in greys?

I actually painted it only with black watercolour. By experience I know that by just turning colour into gray shades you often lose the depths of the painting.
But it was not easy. It also had to be a scene with rain and without colour it's quite hard to depict it.

Glad you like it! :)

That must have been insanely complicated (rain or no rain). I've meant to illustrate a scene from a friend's Tolkien fanfic, but it would have to be all in blue/black/grey, so I haven't yet dared to tackle it... *shudders*

I do! And I'm glad the author also likes it ^^

You should try! In a way it's nice not to have to worry about the colour composition! :D

Congratulations! :D
It's wonderful, did you make it with watercolour or indian ink?

Thank you so much!
It's done only with black watercolour. I don't have india ink here... I think I would love to try that as well.

How are you, by the way?

You're welcome :)
Oh, you should try it, it's fun, but it's quite difficult to do wash painting, you need to work fast and not hesitate (which I'm not very good at XD).

I'm ok, but I don't have that much going on in my life right now, I'm just looking for a job. I haven't been drawing or painting for awhile now, but I'm starting to feel the inspiration slowly coming back.
How are things with you these days? :)
