Actual update containing icons; LotR, Finding Neverland, and other such things

Well, considering my last update was November 23, 2004, I think it's safe to say that once again I have managed to take ages to get an actual update done. Several reasons: I have a life (troublesome, that), a boyfriend (part of said life but twice as much attention is required), and the amount of time I have to make actual icons is not much. I make

Ooh, all very pretty indeed. I've saved several to my hard drive to stare at and if I use will be sure to credit.

Particularly liked 13 under the LotR. Very pretty. Oh, yes, and number 15 as well, because book-quotes always make me happy. :)

Book quotes are the bomb, it's a shame they're not used very often. I see pretty much only film quotes on LotR icons and it makes me sad or annoyed at times. (Arg! That movie quote is such a mangled thing from the original text in the books!) It's why I used Éowyn's original words to the Witch-king on the Éowyn icon rather than the 'I am no man' movie counterpart. She says a lot more in the books, but that didn't fit and this was the most important part. ^^

Hi, making a new try here. I have taken #3 in the into the west set and the frodo one marked hero, I would really like to use them if it is alright, otherwise I´ll just keep them for my eyes only. Please can I use them? They are all very beautiful, I don´t know how to make icons myself, and would really like to have some more.

Of course you may use them- that's what they're up for! XD
All I ask of you is that when you upload them, you include my username in the picture keywords for the credit.

As for icon-making... I didn't know a thing about it when I started doing it, either. All you need is a good graphics programme (PaintShop Pro 7/8/9 or PhotoShop 7 and up), a nice image, and the nerve to try all sorts of stuff. The first icons might not look all that, but practice makes perfect. :)

Thank You. Now, please forgive me but I´m a total computer novice and here in LJ to, but I have to ask, where do I put your name? Do I put it in one of those boxes where I upload the pic to my info? I think it said keyword there and username or something. Hehe, sorry but I need clarification, I just wouldn´t want to do something wrong, you know.

Heh, it's really fairly simple. You upload the picture in lj, and then you can add some sort of comment in the 'keyword' and 'comment' boxes next to the image. I'd use the keyword for whatever name you'd want to give the icon, and 'comment' to add something like 'by elicons' or something. :)
