When it rains it pours...

Well lastnight at practice we were short our bass player [Willie] cause he had to work. It sounded really dull and bad. Both Chad [drummer] and I [Reuben] were trying to so hard but we kept screwing up because the bass lines weren't there to lead us in certain parts or distinguish parts that repeat. Pickup suggestions... elienai March 17 2003, 16:52:02 UTC
Well, I suggest checking out the description of the EMG-95's if you want to stay with active pickups. However if you want to hear a different sound and feel the difference (wich you will feel it) get into passive pickups if your guitar isn't routed out (cut-to-fit) for only EMG's. Here are my suggestions:

MY #1, my favorite of all, the Seymour Duncan SH-5 "Custom" (not SH-11 "Custom-Custom"). They also have a new SH-14 "Custom 5", but it has less output (higher output=heavier distortion). Check the description for the "Custom Custom". I've tried it before. Sounds great and I may get one soon.

My #2 Is the JB. It is a great sounding pickup, but I feel it mushes-up the low-end (bass) a little for less clarity than my "Custom". Clarity is important for note and tone distinction.

Hey I called lastnight to ask about that SC-500 that you got. Did you recieve it in excellent condition? Is it amazing? Did it come/ship packed up well? I've never ordered a guitar on-line and I was wondering if all of the quality was there in an on-line order ( ... )
