Today there was something interesting that happened at work. Someone from another department came down to customer service where I work, and dropped off a t-shirt and flier from a new gym that's opening up. Not that big a deal, but the "hook" of this particular gym is "The Judgement Free Zone". Now, I realize that I am a somewhat cynical person

A word about gym culture.... Every once in a while you will run into assholes but that's everywhere. But in actuality you could be 500 lbs and command more respect in the gym than be 300 lbs sitting at Chinese Buffet II at the table closest to the buffet going back 3-4 times for a full plate.

The point is though to go for yourself and the approval/disapproval of anyone else is moot because it's all about you. If they make rude comments, just smile and say something bitchy like "Sorry if seeing the embodiment of your insecurity bothers you, but there are plenty of mental health professionals in the Ann Arbor area who can help you with those issues" or a simple "Fuck off" :)
