Yeah, it was a good show. It got really crappy when they got to the fifth season, though.

I remember watching an old episode of Taxi where Elaine is interested in a guy who is bisexual and interested in Tony. The episode originally aired in 1980, and I probably saw this in about 2008, and I remember thinking that I hadn't seen anything on TV in the past 12 years or so that even approached how well the show seemed to deal with it.

After watching it again, it's not perfect but it's handled better than I would expect a show to have handled the topic much much later. And just that apparently they insisted that in the final bar scene, all the actors and extras cast should be gay... it's sitcom silliness but it feels like honest silliness.
