“I think it would be nice to totally redo the Christmas tree,” my husband mentioned as we drove back from one of his family’s many holiday gatherings. “I’d like it to have ornaments that are new, and that are just about us.@

Loved reading this. It's a little bitter sweet, as I too do the tree by myself and hope and wish. I've only not had a tree one year ever but it's always been a just me thing and one day I hope it won't be. All of my ornaments have a story, a trip they are associated with, a gift from a person, or things from my grandmother's tree. I love the stories and wish I had someone to share them with.
