It is stinking hot here today. A taste of the summer to come, no doubt. C is out visiting his parents with A. It is lovely to have some time and the house to myself. I have used the time to vacuum, mop, do some washing and puree some apple. I am just waiting for the floors to dry, and will then go hang out the washing. Not exactly relaxing, but

Ben really loved applesauce and wasn't too excited about rice or anything not sweet at the beginning. He's warmed to things like green beans and rice now, but I was careful not to push anything on him. He likes being in his high chair with or without foods now, so long as there is something to play with :-)

The apple wasn't greeted with much enthusiasm in this house! While showing all the signs of readiness for solids, I think she'll be much happier when we give her finger foods. I know we could do baby-led weaning, but I'm not that comfortable with it while she's so young. Anyway, we'll keep going - as they say, 10/12 tastes for each food! Not to mention, apparently it can take a month or so to get them to eat more than a teaspoon.
