From an interview in Gorezone (August 07, Issue #22):

How crazy was the [Thanksgiving] shoot? Did you try to make it as fucked up as you could?

We just went nuts. It was crazy. Literally, like, right at the end of the Hostel II, I hacked on two shooting days and we all just stuck aroun and did it for fun. And staging that parade was insane and we had ( Read more... )

i think something like that could be fun to watch. then again, it could end up being overkill. that wouldn't stop me from trying it out though.

I could give a thoughtful analysis, but the truth is, if Roth was involved, I'd watch it. I have a tendency to buy every horror movie that comes out, so I know I'd want to see it. But trailers make me want to watch the whole movie, so a movie of just trailers might make me sad. And the thing is, if it comes out and does bad you know we're going to get a bunch of snotty review saying that "the age of horror is over" and no one is interested in this genre anymore, not even the filmmakers, blah blah blah. I'm already furious in advance about things people haven't said yet. :-p

I didn't realize Gorezone was still around. Of course I can't get it around here...I'll have to use their complicated online ordering system to get copies. sheesh.

I didn't watch Grindhouse in theaters, either. I regret it a little, but I'd have had to go to Grand Rapids and couldn't find anyone who wanted to take me.

I get the feeling it would be more of a comedy thing than horror. Maybe a mixture of the two. Either way, there will be snotty reviews.

If Eli Roth is involved, it could be a remake of "The Greatest Story Ever Told" and people would make snotty comments about horror movies just because his name was attached to it.

Snotty comments in general piss me off. Why can't we ever just say "I didn't like the film" without being a stuck up cunt about it? People made snotty comments about Cabin Fever when Hostel was released even though the two movies are lightyears apart, until critics got a hard on for the term 'torture porn' and now that's all they talk about when they mention him.

**I move away from the mic to make a snotty comment

Speaking of snotty comments, I thought I should show you this. One of my findings from IMDB.

"Title: Is it just me?
or does Eli Roth seem like the biggest, egomaniacal, douche-bag, wannabe filmmaker, to come out? I was watching the Hostel special features and I could not believe this guy. He seems to have some sort of God complex the way he talks about his work and him catching Quentin Tarantino's eye. And he looks more like a model for a Hollister's catalog rather than a gruesome horror film director."

I'm 100% sure that an entire movie of fake trailers wouldn't be widely released in theaters. I think that, at best, it would go to a few festivals and end up on a DVD as more of a novelty than an actual film.

Either way, whatever he does, I'll watch it.
