Actually, I lied, I share the honor with my friend Chris Sivertson, because Roeper voted "I Know Who Killed Me" as his worst film of the year, while guest critic Michael Phillips gave me the esteemed ( Read more... )

Hostel 2 pissed me off and let me down, but there's no fucking way it's the worst movie of 2007. No fucking way.b Roeper is a mouthpiece for people who deride movies without watching them. People bow down to him and Ebert like they're gods. It's kind of sickening.

yeah, they're not anything special and really should not be taken seriously. half the time, they don't even give horror films a chance before they start spewing their god awful bullshit.

no critic should be taken seriously, imo.

eh, i can respect some of them. i think that people who do it for a living should be able to be unbiased about it. i mean, yeah, their opinion of it is going to effect the review, but it shouldn't just be, "oh, i didn't like this film because it is ~torture porn!!!!~" there should be more to it than them going on about their personal preferences. my point being, if they can do that, then i can respect them.

Honestly most critics are full of shit and if anything is even in the horror genre they automatically dismiss it as "torture porn" or "gornography". I know that Saw IV wasn't a great film but there was no nudity in it! How the fuck can you call it torture porn if there's no fucking nudity?! Obviously Hostel wasn't the best film of 2007, in fact it was pretty disappointing compared to the first... But it wasn't the worst movie.
