Same rules as previous post. These were my grandmother's. She was a clotheshorse and took exceptional care of her clothing. Unless otherwise stated, these are in excellent condition. I tried to put a year with each item. Most were made by my great uncle.

i'm in love with the dress where you wrote:

1950's. Another beauty. This dress looks like lace over satin, but if you look closely the lace pattern is actually woven into the shiny mauve material. It has flesh colored chiffon at the neckline and coming down in a train in the rear.

i don't think i could buy it, cause i'd only offer $5.00, but i just wanted to comment - it's soooo gorgeous.

Yeah, I'd rather keep it than let it go for $5. It is very pretty though.

You know, that hip measurement seemed wrong as I was writing it, but everything took so long to measure I did'nt go back and check. Hips are actually 38" (19" laying flat). I can't tell you exactly what type of material it is because it was hand made so there are no tags. My great uncle paid off his debts to my grandparents by making clothes for my grandmother. It is a very soft chiffon over a red satin (or rayon, did they have rayon back then?) underlayer.

I'll consider it and if no-one makes a better offer in a couple days I'll take it. It is a beautiful dress. I wish I was smaller!

I've become pretty boring too actually. I normally just wear leggings and a t shirt. I love these clothes though. Since there has'nt been much interest in them, I'll likely just keep them as weight loss inspiration.

i have gotten to the point that I will only wear natural fibers. comfort, texture, and breathability are so important now. when i shop for clothes, I am so disgusted by the synthetic, cheaply made, trendy crap out there. it's nice to know I can make my own clothes but i never do.

Thanks! Yeah, my grandmother had some great clothes. Unfortunately, my mother threw out a lot of it. This is what I was able to salvage.

Amazing Black Velvet Dress with Satin Train and Glass Beadwork MAKE OFFER
I'm a little broke and feeling very selfish buying something for me but I love this dress! Would you consider $50 or were you looking for something much higher?

I was looking for something a little higher than that, but I will take it into consideration.
