Eurovision Song Contest 2007 - review part II

Apr 22, 2007 20:07

Sorry, I'm late with the last part of reviewing ESC songs but here it is finally...

Check out ESC 2007 songs here.

Belarus
Um. Nothing special to say except that the singer has blindingly white teeth and too much make-up and I don't think I'd have stomach to listen this song on repeat mode.

Czech Republic
This band is suppose to be very popular in Czech but based on this performance I can't really see why it's so popular. This song sounds just too raw in my ears.

Denmark
Denmark has sent a drag-queen called DQ to the contest. I have to say that I'm used to see much much better drag-queen performances because this one just sucks. And the actual song is just the normal euro-pop trash which really doesn't improve the whole performance any way. Boo!

Estonia
This actually sounded promising until the very first moment the singer started to sing. :P (Does my Finnish friends recognize the "tapping" sound? It makes me to think about J.Karjlainen's song Telepatiaa..)

Finland
First of all, I'd have wanted to Lovex to be there performing but Hanna isn't a bad choice at all - I know she will charm the audience. And I dare to say that this song should actually be in TOP 5 because really again, compared to other songs - this just rocks, although this is a bit too mediocre sounding rock for my tastes. Anyway good luck to Hanna, I root for you! :)

France
I guess this should be funny sounding but I can't really listen to this kind of stuff at all. Non merci.

Germany
Swing music! Although I don't think German sounds beautiful (I only like Rammstein singing in German), I like the song and the genre. YAY. :)

Hungary
I like the singer's voice but this blues song just sounds something you have heard so many times before so no points for this song..

Moldova
This song is suppose to be a competitor for Finland and I can't say I'm not a bit worried that this could actually beat Hanna's song. Personally I think this sounds too much of stuff which "Within Temptation" makes and that's not plus at all.

Montenegro
Um, no. Sounds annoying and like it was composed in the 80's...

Norway
Eurovision song alike. Boring. And the lyrics? Give me a break here.

Poland
Poland has taken all the elements there are in pop music to this song. It also sounds that there's actually two different songs which has been combined together...

Portugal
Horrible!!

Romania
Um, no thanks.

Russia
Aargh. Totally terrible.

Serbia
The singer has a great voice but the actual song is so boring I can't bear to listen it. Interesting notion though, I think the singer is a dyke. YAY. :D Plus it's cool that she wears a Ramones t-shirt...

Slovenia
Melodramatic sounding but so darn boring.

Sweden
Hehee, I have a feeling that this legendary gay icon band "The Ark" will really kick some asses in ESC. So beware!! :D And I think they are going to be real hit this year's competition! But have to admit that this song isn't actually the best of the Ark - but still it sounds better than most of the songs...

Switzerland
You guys remember Dj Bobo??? Well, he is here and so are the vampires.. I don't know what to say about the song - is the song so bad that it's actually really good ???? I can totally believe that this is going to be a hit in the clubs.

Turkey
Ugh. Sounds slimy.

Ukraine
Like a circus show - fits to ESC but unfortunately this sounds so horrible that even the humour and all the camp in the performance can't save the song.
