Second, I am getting better at just turning around and walking away. What happens is that instead of listening to them, I simply run through all my options and their potential outcomes in my mind.
Invariably, I settle upon the following argument: Why should I stand here and make my life worse just so this annoying and insensitive person might perceive his or her life to be better?
Then I turn around and walk away.
Rude? Perhaps. But it's far ruder to impose upon someone's sense of civility to try and coerce them read your crappy book(s).
