TROUBLE BIG, signs Icy, her eyes enormous. PLAN?

"Six of them, two of us, and whoever's down there there," Lex says.

"Swoop around, hit Wolf and Jackal from behind. They're the most dangerous. Take them down first."

She nods and starts to circle.

Lex follows suit and is soon leading the way, getting them in position behind the Pack, who are fanning out on the roof.

He points to Icy, then to Wolf. Then to himself, and then to Jackal. Wolf's just a strong man, Icy can handle him, but Jackal's full of extras.

Icy lands kicking, punching, and biting like a little fury, but she's less than half her opponent's size. Even with her strength it's not going to be hard to just throw her away if Fox doesn't mind losing some skin and hair.

Lex's fists connect hard with Coyote, knocking the armored man back, but also doing damage to his own knuckles. He winces in pain, backing away as he tries to dodge his foe's laser blasts.

Fox doesn't even bother with that, instead trying to send electricity directly into Icy's body.

The little blue gargoyle's body arches as the energy shoots through it, and her scream rings through the night.

"Icy!" Lex's roar is loud, reverberating through the night. With surprising strength, he grabs the mechanical hunting dog and hurls it straight into Fox, knocking the mutate down.

But this leaves him open to a laser blast from Coyote, sending him slamming into the heat vent.

"I vill do...." He pauses and puts his ears back for a moment, then takes a breath. "I vill carry her. But ve must hurry vhile... I still can."

Icy frowns at him in concern, wondering what's wrong.

"Okay," Lex says, leaping off the roof and spreading his arms and legs wide.

Before long, they're back at the tall office building that Lex dubbed Minivern, the top few floors of which were being used by the little breakaway Clan. Landing on the roof, he opens up the skylight to the living room below.

The stranger nearly falls through, the little girl leaping free of his back as he lands on it.

He gasps for a few moments, then opens his arms to let Icy go. "I... think... she's... sleeping."

Lex takes Icy from him and lays her on the couch. "She'll be okay, looks like. That just took a lot out of her."

"But what about you? You don't look so good..."

The little one... she's about his height... flails her hands slightly as she searches for words. Then her thin face lights. "Draak spit."

"Nasty stuff," Lex says, as he bandages his burns.

"Inside mien broer," she says quietly.

Lex looked back uncertainly. He didn't have anywhere near the kind of medical knowledge to treat something like that, and they didn't have the facilities here to treat it even if he did. While there were better facilities and equipment at the castle, there was no way to get there.

"Cut?" asks the little girl, her long pointed ears pointing toward him.

Lex nods. "Gotta get it out somehow..." He searches the drawers. "Carving knife... carving knife..."

"Nein." She shakes her head. "No cut."

Lex slumps against the cabinet. "I don't know what else to do."
