Gmail Just Needed Some Miralax, Apparently

I was sitting at my computer last night, trying to send a couple of pictures to a friend, and Gmail simply looked at me when I hit "Compose."  Finally, I tried reloading the whole page

Wow, wow, wow! Thank you for posting this! At TPP, we've been having problems with not receiving notifications to personal email accounts. We did notice that when a couple of us switched to another email account (not gmail), the notices started coming in again. But your description is a definite confirmation that it's gmail rather than a sudden, out-of-the-blue TPP glitch.

Well that's a hell of an unpleasant surprise -slash- inadvertent time-suck... Yeesh. And here you'd think gmail might take strides to be reliable in between all the cosmetic upgrades. =/

Gmail just forced the new composition style on me (I changed settings at first because I despise change), and I wonder if perhaps pushing that change to everyone has caused some issues?
