Why I Am Friends Only

Nov 09, 2001 23:37

After a couple of months of going through all my entries, I finally edited this entry to be entirely friends-only. However, after chatting with a couple of friends, the question of "Why" has come up - mainly, why in the sense that a friends-only journal seems rather antisocial and all-around pointless ( Read more... )

You know me somewhat, and I know a little bit about you, although you probably haven't met me here. (Cryptic, eh? If it helps, you were the one who pointed me at motorcycles after finding out I had just gotten a motorcycle. You also know me through stickcow and it occurs to me several of your other friends might know me.) I keep a very low profile at work, which is one of many reasons I didn't find out we have very many interests in common until just a few days ago (one of those interests was quite a shock, although when I learned about it, quite a few other things fell into place and began making sense!)

(You don't know me as a snarky asshole because you've only seen my professional demeanor. Or maybe you've overheard a little of my snarkiness, I don't know.)

If you remember who I am from this comment, maybe that will be enough to persuade you to add me .. :D

Heh, I actually found your livejournal many months ago, but was reluctant to friend you for obvious reasons. :P

The amusing thing was, when I noticed your post on that mailing list, my first thought was, "Oh. Wow. Huh. Well, mutually assured destruction if either of us decides to get talky." Second thought was "Huh, I wondered, but yeah, that makes sense. And he's smart, so I bet he had a suspicion on me too."

Yeah, hardcore small world. :) I'll enjoy another snarky asshole on my friends list.

My husband and I are contemplating a move to Austin in the near future. I loved your fairy icon on a community thread and noticed we share many interests (plus you have snarktastic icons.)

If you wouldn't mind adding me, I'd enjoy chatting with you!

P.S. I envy the toesocks you have in your icon.

Hey... can I add you? I just checked out your userinfo and we have quite a bit of interests that are similar (books, cross stitching, socks and my husband works apple). Only catch is I live for my son and post a lot about him/pics, but I am also a working mother and a feminist who believe that your child shouldnt be the only thing in your life if that makes sense.
