Less than 24 hours before the next episode... I'm all for openers that function like finales, but my goodness, they take some work. As always, with endless thanks to promethia_tenk without whom I couldn't do this, I don't think.
Pff, how do we know it's tea? How do we know there's ANYTHING in the cup? He could just be pretending to sip and slurp and then telling the Daleks that he's drinking tea. How would they know the difference? Rule Number One: the Doctor lies.
Some of us can afford the upgrade.
Missy upgraded herself and then decided to 'upgrade' the human race as well. The most demonic plastic surgeon imaginable. Sadly (not), the human race refused to be upgraded. The tin soldier said "no" and the wicked stepmother was defeated by someone she hadn't even bothered to think about. Just like Professor Yana with Chantho.
I suspect Missy decided to kill Clara when the Doctor woke up and asked for her. Because how DARE he? X)
she fails to kill Missy when given the chance
A wonderful way to demonstrate that Clara has moved on from Danny's death. If she were still in mourning for him like she was in Death in Heaven, she wouldn't have hesitated for one

How would they know the difference? Rule Number One: the Doctor lies. Where did he get the cup? I don't think the Daleks have cups. And Colony Sarf emptied his pockets... (Don't get me wrong, I love the fact that it's unexplained. Like a magic trick, I don't want to know.)
Missy upgraded herself and then decided to 'upgrade' the human race as well. Huh. Hadn't really thought of it in those terms.
