Changes

Since 1998 or so, I've had BIG CHANGE years every three years like clockwork. Usually, there are smaller-scale changes scattered throughout, but nothing on the order of the three-year cycle. I tend to lump the tail and beginning ends of the surrounding years in, because it seems like a fair bit happens on the edges, too ( Read more... )

It was 07 you changed jobs? Huh, I thought it was 08 for some reason. You've inspired me to put a timeline together myself, so I don't blur it to bitz.

Yeah, I keep timelines like this specifically because I'm really good at swiss-cheesing my memory.

I use the term "screw up" in a very software-development-oriented fashion: it's only screwed up if you can't fix it. ;)

Wow. I have almost the exact same clock.

1989 - elevated from geeky outcast to student council president
1992 - left home for boarding school. started dating.
1995 - started college. discovered linguistics.
1998 - end of first major LTR, trip to Europe, and beginning of political radicalization
2001 - started the Indymedia Center and gave my soul over to it
2004 - arrested at protest, got mono, lost election, drama and disillusionment with activism, decided to move to Chicago
2007 - sold Urbana house, moved to Australia with "life partner" and new job
2010 - ended life partnership, changed job moved back to the US
2013 - ???? Meh the world will already have ended by then, right?
