What the heck happened to May? And what about the rest of the year before that? Wow .. time certainly flies regardless of the amount of fun you're having. Some of May was better than others. I think it would be a good idea if I actually worked on some goals. Actually, that's not right. I have worked on goals but I haven't set any to work ( Read more... )

I think it would be a good idea if I actually worked on some goals.

I started tracking how many words I was writing for April Fools and I decided to continue to do so.

I made a spreadsheet. Down the first column I listed all the dates. Then I listed various categories of writing (charmed fanfic, musemuggers, drabbles, etc) at the top of each column. Every day when I'd write something, I would put the total number of words next to that date in the appropriate column and I had auto totals set up at the bottom of each column and at the end of each row (for a daily count and a subcategory monthly count). In May I wrote over 8,000 words without even hardly realizing it.

My goal for June is to write at least one thing every day - even if it's just a 100 word drabble. I realized that I'm very sporadic with my writing, I can write 2,000 words in one day and then I won't write anything for 6 or 7 more days.

I'd be happy to email you a sample of my spreadsheet if you're interested :)

Send me an email at ladybug218 @ hotmail.com and I will reply and attach my current spreadsheet.

It's set up in Microsoft Works Spreadsheet cause I'm cheap and I don't have office or excel. I hope you can open it!
