Although you probably didn't realise that I was gone. But, it was Easter and that means Rowany Festival (a SCA camping event). Because it requires a fair bit of preparation before and unpacking, washing etc after, S and I took the 2 weeks around Easter off work. Theoretically, that gave us Saturday to Tuesday to get organised to get up there on ( Read more... )

It was a wonderful Festival wasn't it! All post reports from everyone have been positive. Was lovely to catch up albeit briefly and glad you could be at the court for me. In fact, when I was asked when I wanted it held on Monday, and Bran suggested during the tourney I thought to meself 'yes! everyone I care about will most likely be there' but I was worried you might get caught up with the details of listing but so glad you got a break. Also glad the household looked after you as it sounds like nonstop listing/seneschal duties were the order of the day. Yay... can't wait until next Festival! ARe you going to May Crown? Considering a day trip without the feast element. Hugs x

I believe that I'm doing Lists for May Crown, so will be there. If you want to stay for the feast, you can always crash here at chaos city.

Styvyn came up to me when Court started saying "come quick, Tig's getting laurelled!", knowing that I'd be more than a little annoyed if I'd missed it. He stayed behind to look after the Fighter Auction prizes. I would have loved to talk to you longer after your laurelling, but it appears that Fighter Auction takes pretty much all day. :}

Yes, I have volunteered to do it again next year. :)

We'll be at Crown - staying in a hotel overnight - so I will absolutely catch you properly there.

As I mentioned, this was the driest I've seen it. They added extra drainage and most of the mud puddle in the centre was gone despite 2 days of rain prior to Festival. I think it will always be misty/foggy at night at this time of the year, though. It would be great to see you at Festival - let's hope that the year you pick is as dry or drier than this one. :)
