As much as I'm not a big fan of #5 and #8, I'd say you're approved! Check your invites!

These are all great, but try to think about being able to see the subject. I noticed in #4 the light texture obscures her face so that you can't really see that it's Summer. Otherwise, you're approved! Check your invites!

I like your colouring, it's just that the contrast is too low, so it looks faded and pale. As for your text, I like the ideas but Soft Glow in PS is a little outdated. #7 is a great icon, colour-wise, but the contrast is low. The cropping, try to not center things unless it compliments the final icon. I would love to see you re-apply!

About the contrast, I dunno, I just prefer my icons a little more 'dreamy' looking, if that makes sense. For some reason very saturated colours and high contrast bug me a little. Guess there's no fixing that.

I use Gimp, so I'm not sure what you mean by 'soft glow'.

With number seven, it's not the contrast. I turned down the opacity on Emma to make her colouring blend with the background a bit more.

I've been working on the cropping lately, but mostly in experiments, so not many of the icons are what I'd call wonderful.

I'll re-apply, though to be honest, I'm probably not going to put a whole lot more contrast in my icons any time soon, so it may be a lost cause.

Thanks again. :)

Of course, I understand, but after you made Emma blend in with the background, wouldn't it be nice to have her face look a bit brighter? As for soft glow, it's that green glow around 'Slytherin' in your first one. I appreciate that you have a personal style, but contrast is one of the alphas and omegas when it comes to this. Just a tip. ;)

I'm very sorry, but no. You have nice ideas, it's just...you don't seem to execute them as brilliantly as you think them out. Now I think #6 is an absolute masterpiece, it's excellent, I would like you to bring out that kind of creativity in you because I can tell you do have it. What I want you to work on is brightness. I can almost guarantee you a spot if you re-apply with icons that are brightened up a bit. Don't make them too bright, not too dark either. Hope to see you re-apply.
