Name: Aaron
Age:He hates telling; 25-26
Hometown/Region: Eterna City/Sinnoh
Class: League member
Team: Yanmega, male
Drapion, male : A gift from his father. His only non-Bug type Pokémon, and his surprise ace-in-the-hole.
Heracross, male
Vespiquen, female: The only female of his team. He loves her to death.
Scizor, male
In PC:
Beautifly & Dustox, males: His two first Pokémon. He treats them as old friends, although he prefers not to use them in battle much. He usually brings them with him when he goes out, just to have them around.
History:
Aaron grew up with his parents in Eterna City. He started his Pokémon career as a simple Bug Catcher, happily spending his free time in the Eterna Forest with his other like-minded friends. He was easily enraptured by the many bug types he saw there, just enjoying the environment and atmosphere.

However, he once stayed out too late and too deep in the Forest. He and his friends had always laughed and joked about the Old Chateau as they passed, talking about the rumors of it being haunted. One day Aaron, caught up in his sighting of a Dustox , was left alone in the forest. He had to make his way back home to the city by passing the dilapidated building.

Being young, his fear quickly multiplied to high levels. Ghost Pokémon sensed this and flocked to him. The Misdreavus and Gastly that lived there speedily made him their victim, scaring him out of his wits and cackling as he fainted out of fright. His parents came looking for him, worried about how long he had been out, to find him curled up in a ball at the front of the Chateau’s gates, out cold.

Aaron recovered quickly enough from his escapade, but he never stayed out after dark ever again, and an irrational fear of any and all Ghost types had been instilled in him. Even now, he would prefer not to have anything to do with them, although he tries not to show it.

After returning to the forest, he caught two Wurmple there. He loved them dearly, and it wasn’t long before they began evolving. He would challenge other Bug Catchers and have friendly battles with them, but one day a traveling Trainer came through the forest. He and his friends were eager to challenge him, but the trainer sneered at them.

“You only use Bug types?” he had asked. “How weak! I can take out all of you, easily.”

And he did. Aaron’s friends all shrugged, saying, “That’s life,” but Aaron burned inside, stung by the Trainer’s insults. Bug Pokemon were not weak, and he would prove it.

Fueled by the need to show the strength of Bug types, Aaron began doing all he could to train his Pokémon. He caught a Combee soon after, whom he began leveling up alongside his Beautifly and Dustox. His parents were very encouraging of his endeavor and took him to Johto on a family trip, where he caught more Bug types not available to him in Sinnoh.

He was sent to training camp at his request, where he grew up quickly. He learned a lot of strategy there, and fought many battles. He toughened up substantially from his work there. He became more adept at battling and its complexity, learning to appreciate them better. He became fond of the camp, but once finished, he left and began traveling Sinnoh.

Aaron continued to excel in his preferred type, gaining people’s recognition as he grew older. It wasn’t long before he began challenging Gyms, becoming the most famous Bug-type user in Sinnoh. Aaron had long forgotten the insulting Trainer’s face, but he felt he’d achieved his goal of showing that Bug Pokémon could fight.

Soon after, the Pokémon League got in contact with him. They were asking for him to be one of the Elite Four. He accepted proudly, and quickly adapted to the way of life in the League.

After being defeated by Dawn, he became a little discouraged, and went back to camp. He stayed there for a few years, training his Pokémon and helping younger trainers. When his confidence returned, he came back to Sinnoh, although he didn’t bother challenging anyone. Being an Elite Four member is good enough for him and he enjoys what he does.

Personality:
Aaron’s a pretty cheerful guy. It’s hard to find him not smiling, and he laughs a lot. He really enjoys what he does, and losing isn’t too much of a downer to him. Being the first Elite Four member, he’s the most often beaten (although, mentioning that is not advised). He views other Bug-type users as “brethren” of sorts, and so warms up to them much more quickly than anyone else, whether they want him to or not.

He goofs off a lot as well. If he’s messing around or annoying one of the other league members(usually Lucian by default, as he finds Bertha scary, Cynthia could kick his ass and Flint would probably go along with him), he’s happy. He does know when to be serious, however.

When he’s upset or angry at something, he usually covers it up by laughing it off. He doesn’t really enjoy showing others his melancholy side, as he would feel exposed and vulnerable. He’d much rather be confident in front of other people than embarrassed, so it’s rare to catch him in a negative mood. They don’t last very long, though, so it isn’t too big of a deal.

Beneath his cheerful outlook is a calculating side to him. Because of his team of Bug types, a lot of Trainers view him as pretty weak or a pushover, and so he has to come up with lots of strategies and moves to surprise them. One of the things he hates the most is being underestimated, so he strives to one-up people who do so.

He is also extremely unnerved by Ghost-types due to his childhood. He stays away from them whenever possible. (Yes, Fantina’s Gym was a terror for him to go through).

Another thing he hates is sleeves. He only wears them when he absolutely has to.
Sample I:
H-hey, guys? Guys? Um, yeah, this is embarrassing. *shaky laugh*

Is, um, is anyone near Viridian Forest? Because I was kind of training in it and upset a Beedrill nest and I’m kind of screwed.

Like, hiding-in-a-tree screwed.

Yeah.

Help.

I didn’t even mean to upset it, you know! I was just training my Heracross and he likes honey and so he wandered off and I followed him and this happened.

What a day to leave the rest of my Pokémon in the PC…

B-but, yeah! So, please come save me because I’m not looking forward to having to treat myself for a bazillion bee stings… auugh. I’ll be in your debt forever!

Sample II:
Aaron was simply enjoying himself. Having taken a break to visit Johto, he had no responsibilities and so was taking a walk. Dustox and Beautifly flitted around his head, the soft beat of their wings showering him with light breezes. He took a moment to beam at them and look up into the clouds, appreciating the beautiful day’s weather.

“Hey, you!” a voice broke in, stopping him short and shattering the quiet peace. He looked down in surprise to find a small boy across from him on the path glaring at him challengingly. He grinned when Aaron met his eyes and pointed an accusing finger at the confused League member. “Battle me!”

Aaron raised an eyebrow and looked the little boy over. He had one Pokeball on hand, and was dressed like a traditional Youngster: hat, shorts and t-shirt. He could hardly be a challenge. “Are you sure…?” he hedged, not wanting to beat down the poor boy. He also really didn’t feel like battling, as easy as it would be. He had been having such a nice walk…

The boy sneered. “What, too chicken? Think your Bug Pokémon can’t handle it?”

That did it. Aaron frowned, irritated. What nerve! “Well, alright, kid, but don’t blame me when you lose,” he warned. Beautifly nudged him questioningly, wanting to be picked for the battle. Aaron waved him in front, letting Dustox hang back to watch. “Let’s get on with it, then!”
